The Cultural Characteristics category is designed to determine how well an applicant will FIT into or enjoy a particular work environment or organization. It is used mainly to predict organizational commitment as opposed to job performance, although research has shown that job performance is definitely linked to job enjoyment and organizational commitment. It has also been demonstrated that if the person and environment “FIT,” there is an increase in job retention and satisfaction.
